Before You Call: The Air Master Quick Check

Most problems can be solved in minutes.
1. Check Your Thermostat
It sounds simple, but it happens to the best of us! Ensure your thermostat is set to "On" and "Cool" (or "Heat"). If the screen is blank, try replacing the batteries.
2. Inspect Your Air Filter
A heavily clogged filter can cause your system to overheat and shut down automatically. If your filter looks grey or furry, swap it out for a fresh one and see if the system restarts after a few minutes.
3. Flip the Breaker
Check your home's electrical panel. Sometimes a power surge can trip the circuit breaker for your HVAC unit. Flip it all the way to "Off" and then back to "On" to reset the connection.
4. Clear the Outdoor Unit
Take a quick peek outside. Ensure there are no grass clippings, leaves, or debris crowding your outdoor condenser. Your system needs to "breathe" to move heat effectively!
